Dim Sum Dollies - Little Shop of Horror

All right, here's The One to catch for the year.
After the SRT's Forbidden City producers decided to have Celine Rosa Tan playing as Young Empress Dowager on the Wed matinee show, I no longer want to watch matinee show even if they offer me the BEST seats. I was utterly disappointed when I realised that I cant have Kit Chan singing right in my face especially when I've gotten a seat that allows me to see even the finest expression on those actors' face. Oh yes, and those noisy kids on Wed matinee show. But then again, if I'm not striking Toto or 4D anytime sooner, I think matinee show will still be in my list. But I'll make sure I'll check scrupulously for the best bargain.
Forbbiden City was pretty good, even though Ms Kit Chan wasn't in it. I would say Celine Rosa Tan was commendable for her efforts and I liked the sets way better than the ones in Cabaret. Simple, but totally functional. The chinese orchestra was good too. And yes, my favourite Sebastian Tan and Hossan Leong as the Recordkeepers were totally hilarious!
22nd French Film Festival is here too! I'm excited!

Forbidden City - Portrait of an Empress

Wish me luck on this one. (Secretly prays that it is better than Cabaret)
13th Sept 2006, Wed, 3pm
Row B (Time to ditch those binoculars!)
Cabaret did not live up to expectations though we loved the old couple, Fraulein Schneider (by Karen Tan) and Herr Schultz (by Daniel Jenkins). Oh, the Fruit Shop Dance was good too! And yes, Mr Ernest Ludwig had to lose this German accent midway through the play. Next time I make sure I read all those reviews before I pay my $60.
