We Will Rock You

We Will Rock You - The musical concert by Queen & Ben Elton
(shown exclusively aT Dominian Theatre-London)
The time is the future, in a place that was once called Earth. Globalisation is complete!
Everywhere, the kids watch the same movies, wear the same fashions and think the same thoughts.
It's a safe, happy, Ga Ga world. Unless you're a rebel. Unless you want to Rock. On Planet Mall all musical instruments are banned. The Company Computers generate the tunes and everybody downloads them. It is an age of Boy Bands and of Girl Bands. Of Boy and Girl Bands. Of Girl Bands with a couple of boys in them that look like girls anyway. Nothing is left to chance, hits are scheduled years in advance.
Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality.
But Resistance is growing. Underneath the gleaming cities, down in the lower depths live the Bohemians. Rebels who believe that there was once a Golden Age when the kids formed their own bands and wrote their own songs. They call that time, The Rhapsody.
Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see
Legend persists that somewhere on Planet Mall instruments still exist. Somewhere, the mighty axe of a great and hairy guitar god lies buried deep in rock. The Bohemians need a hero to find this axe and draw it from stone. Is the one who calls himself Galileo that man?
He’s just a poor boy. From a poor family
But the Ga Ga Cops are also looking for Galileo and if they get him first they will surely drag him before the Killer Queen and consign him to oblivion across the Seven Seas of Rye.Who is Galileo? Where is the Hairy One's lost axe? Where is the place of living rock?
Anywhere the wind blows
Tickets to Fame the musical were sold out and we were coerced into watching this musical, which set us back by ₤40. With apprehension, not being familiar with queen songs, we made our way to the Dominian theatre at tottenham court rd.. with thoughts of changing our tickets for Chicago or something else. The musical was a blast from start to end. It had a very interesting set.. there was a live band on stage belting out tunes of famous Queen songs such as Bohemian Rhapsody and We Will Rock You. The cast was enjoyable to watch and what wonderful vocal chords I must add. I got addicted to Queen songs since and boy was I glad I watched this fantastic musical. Its a musical that makes you wanna jump up and join in.. When the last song We Will Rock You was sung, the audience were waving light sticks and singing along.. (felt like i was at a subtle rock concert) A definite must watch!

Broadway Beng

Watch out Singapore! Sebastian Tan returns from a highly successful run of Miss Saigon (UK) to be your Broadway Beng! Sebastian quips “I learnt a lot about how the English don’t know how to ‘lim teh’ or ‘lim jiu’ or talk properly to ‘lim peh’!” Come enjoy his hokkien inspired humour as he ponders the difference between all things East and West. You also won't want to miss his Sexy Singing Trio: "The Chio Bu's”! Starring, Denise Tan, Leigh MacDonald and Jacky Pereira.Sebastian Tan is living proof that you CAN take the Chinese Helicopter (Chinese Educated) out of Miss Saigon!

Broadway Beng, a super entertaining of mix of 'Getai' and 'Broadway'! Absolutely love Sebastian Tan's singing! Especially with the voice that can sing Broadway style and also Hokkien classics, how can I not love it? Saturday's crowd was reponsive, which made the show a even better one with lots of interaction between the audiences and Sebastian Beng. Thumbs up for the show!
